About How To Guides

September 26, 2026 · Updated September 30, 2026

howtoguides.online answers one question per page. A page exists because somebody asks that question, and it ends when the question is answered.

How a page gets written

Every claim carries a source, named in the text and listed at the end. Where a standards body, a manufacturer or a developer has written the answer down, that document is what gets quoted, so a page points at NIST, OWASP, the USDA, an IEC standard or a game's own guide instead of paraphrasing somebody else's paraphrase.

Numbers come from the primary document. A figure that was measured instead of published says who measured it and how.

Sources that contradict each other get named as contradicting each other. Two guides describing the same new battleground under two different names is worth telling a reader about, because it says something about how much either one knows.

What happens when the answer does not exist

The gap gets stated.

In September 2026 the most asked question about battlegrounds in the World of Warcraft: Forever beta had one honest answer: they were not switched on, and the developer had given no date. Several pages ranking for that question printed level bracket tables copied from an older game.

Our page said there was nothing to queue for, quoted the developer's own wording, and carried the date it was checked. A page admitting it does not know yet is worth more than a page guessing with confidence.

Dates and corrections

Anything that can change carries the date it was checked. Beta content, game mechanics and published standards all move, and a guide with no date is a guide you cannot weigh.

Corrections get made. Write to privacy@beeranked.online naming the page and what is wrong. A factual correction gets the page edited and the checked date moved, and where the error changed the advice, the page says what it used to say.

What this site does not do

  • No advertising, no affiliate links, no sponsored pages. Nothing here was written because a product paid for it.

  • No cookies and no analytics, which the privacy policy covers in detail.

  • No account, no newsletter, no form. Nothing is collected from readers.

How the writing is kept plain

A house style bans the constructions that make prose sound manufactured: the rule of three used for rhythm, the "it is not X, it is Y" reversal, announced candour, and intensifiers doing the work that evidence should do.

It is enforced by a checker that runs before anything is written and again before anything is published. The checker is a tool and it promises nothing, so what it does is catch the habits a writer stops noticing. It found its own blind spot once, when an opening paragraph passed every rule and still read as machine-written, and the rules were widened.

Who publishes it

howtoguides.online is operated from Belgium by BeeRanked, which also builds the content platform this site runs on. Full legal entity details are available on request at privacy@beeranked.online.

That makes the site an example of what the platform can do, and it is a publication first. Nothing goes up to demonstrate a feature.

Where to start

The security section is the deepest, running from securing a login page through hashing, rate limiting, sessions and second factors. The other sections cover electronics, music theory, astrology, occult practice, cooking and specific games.
