How to queue for a battleground in WoW Forever
September 26, 2026 · Updated October 7, 2026
Darkspear Islands is now playable in the WoW Forever beta. You need level 30 to queue for this new battleground. Speak to a Darkspear Islands Battlemaster, join the queue, and accept the entry prompt when a match is ready.
How to join the Darkspear Islands queue
Reach level 30 on your beta character. Blizzard's October 1 development notes raised the beta's level cap to 30. The public beta-client records put Darkspear Islands' first bracket at levels 30 to 39, so level 30 is the entry point in the current beta.
Find a friendly NPC with the title Darkspear Islands Battlemaster. The locations below give you a named NPC to look for.
Talk to the Battlemaster and join the Darkspear Islands queue. Current player reports about queueing describe having to visit a Battlemaster; do not expect Retail's queue-from-anywhere interface.
Accept the battleground entry prompt when a match becomes available.
The level-30 requirement here is for Darkspear Islands. Other battlegrounds have their own eligibility requirements.
Where to find a Darkspear Islands Battlemaster
| Location | NPC | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Orgrimmar, for Horde | Gruga Bloodblade | Wowhead's Forever NPC entry |
| Dalaran's Underbelly, if you can access the city | Bimble Sparkfingers | Wowhead's beta walkthrough |
Wowhead's Dalaran walkthrough identifies Bimble as the Darkspear Islands Battlemaster and notes that Horde characters are not welcome inside the city walls. Horde players should use a friendly location such as Orgrimmar.
If you cannot see the queue
Check your character's level and the NPC's title first. A Battlemaster for another map does not necessarily offer Darkspear Islands.
If you are level 30 and the correct NPC still does not offer the queue, check the WoW Forever beta discussion forum for maintenance or changes to testing. Beta availability can change between builds.
If you still need access to the beta itself, see How to get into the WoW Forever beta.
What changed since the original guide
The September 26 version described the opening beta phase, when battlegrounds were not enabled. That answer is now obsolete. Players in the Darkspear Islands feedback thread discuss matches they have played, including the map's objectives and bugs.
Blizzard's October 1 notes confirm the level-cap increase. The level requirement and NPC locations above come from public beta-client data and on-beta reporting.
